The OBIE Awards (organised by the OAAA – Outdoor Advertising Association of America) are one of the oldest and most prestigious honours for creative excellence in advertising.
Having being around for 73 years, the aim of the OBIE awards is to find the best creative work that the Out-Of-Home advertising industry has to offer. This year there were 607 submissions for the OBIE Awards; 14 of which were awarded Gold Awards and 20 were awarded Silver Awards.
The Heineken Cities Adshel Dispenser Special was awarded a Silver Award in the International Category for “Street Furniture/ Transit/ Alternative Campaign”. Clear Channel and Adshel are delighted to have won this Silver OBIE Award for a brilliant Heineken innovation. It is great to have an Irish outdoor innovation (a first in the market) recognised internationally for its creative brilliance.
A huge amount of effort went into the submission with the great help of Starcom, ROTHCO and Kinetic. To be one of only 34 award winners out of a possible 607, demonstrates just how innovative and special this really was. Ultimately, being recognised for the innovative use of technology in this Heineken Adshel special is a reflection of how advertising and content marketing can be used in the most unlikely of places.
